A piece from early 2012, it’s 55 x 70 cm and was based on a photograph of light refraction through stained glass. Haven’t had nearly enough time in the studio this year, need to be making more pieces like this.

Two pieces from early 2012, each 30 x 40 cm, matt spray paint on hardboard and framed. The starting point for these was that each was each would have its origin at either end of the tonal scale, one frame black the other white. The addition of colour outside of the grey scale is deliberate and is intended to set the mood in the piece.

Each year we come up with a new theme for these drop in sessions in Cotteridge Park. This year we ended up doing different words with matching themes and we tried to use different languages too, so a little bit educational..

Quick little trip to see family in the middle of rural Poland. Didn’t manage to visit any cities, but made some small work out in the country side and found an abandoned gallery which helped.

I’ve been doing loads of walls this summer that are workshops but with the lasting outcome of a public mural. So through consultations and design workshops we come up with the concept, the participants get a go, then I spend a while at the end touching everything up. The client gets a tidy looking wall and the local residents/young offenders/school kids, have had an input in the design and the painting.

Preclusion – Stirchley

Me and Agent took part in a squat show in Stirchley on Friday. Great to meet nice people, Harry is a legend, all the residents were cool and all the artists I met, hello. It came together within a day really with all the walls filling up just before the doors open. There were a lot of people for the opening too and a mad diverse crowd. Here’s a longer write up including decent photos, you might recognise the handstyle on his website banner! Cheeky.

Anyway an art piece from me, not done one in a while even on canvas so this was a lot of fun having a break from doing crisp lines and cut backs.
